Joy and sadness for Bad Lashes

It all gets too much for Bad Lashes
Bad Lashes gal Sophie Wilson had a tough time at Judges' Houses because, even though a place in the live shows meant everything to her, she was reeling from bad news in the family hundreds of miles away.
With the band rehearsed and practiced for their big chance, Sophie was worried about her mum, and coping with the upset of her nan's passing, just a few days before.
There are always tears on tap at The X Factor, but when Sophie's band got the good news they so longed for, the blonde singer could no longer keep control of her emotions, and just let go.
Says Sophie, "I was in a bad way because my nan died the week before; she was my mum's mum".
"It was sad but I really was OK in myself. It really wasn't that I was so upset for myself, but I would've liked to be around to look out for my mam.
"It has been a horrible time for her, and of course my mum was upset about my nan passing and all the stuff that goes with it. She'd tried to look after my nan toward the end. I just wanted to see she was OK.
"It was hard to be away during judges' houses and when I called my mum from Ireland she told me, 'If you can just get through this, we'll have something to look forward to'.
"So I couldn't bear the idea of failing at Judges' Houses because I wanted to give her good news.
"That's why, when Louis told us we were through, I just collapsed in floods of tears. It was so emotional."
Now with the live shows on the horizon, Sophie is hoping Bad Lashes winning streak can continue.
"I'm really hoping we can do our families proud on Saturday night, and my mum will be in the audience."
"She's had something to think about since it happened. She's keeping herself busy because all she's thinking about is 100% X Factor every day!"
