Diana - skating on thin ice?

Hot wheels land Diana in hot water
One of the hottest controversies of The X Factor 2007 was when the roller-skating dancers accompanying singer Alisha Bennett skated her out of the competition.
It was always going to be a dangerous move, then, for mentor Cheryl Cole and choreographer Brian Friedman to have Diana Vickers add six rollerbladed dancers to her act as she performed the Blondie hit Call Me.
Choreographer Brian Friedman went one step - or should that be roll - further by having Diana herself don not just extra short shorts but also a pair of skates - although, to our surprise (and Louis'!), she didn't actually get up and join in with the dancer's moves.
There was huge consternation from Louis over Diana's lack of dancing and it is true she hasn't attempted much in the way of complicated choreography in the competition so far. However there was plenty going on behind her!
There were girls swirling in the air around Diana's head and skates swishing in all directions as she delivered her song.
Simon seemed horrified by the whole thing, telling Di she "was lucky she couldn't see what was going on" behind her, adding "one of the dancers looked like she'd just stumbled onto the show".
And while he had high praise for Diana herself, with her voice receiving some of the highest praise of the week, he told the northern singer that her routine was "arguably one of the worst routines I've ever seen in my life".
