Simon Cowell - Godfather of pop!?
Dad Daniel Evans is beginning to worry that music mogul Simon Cowell could use his considerable power in a nefarious manner against him.
Danny survived the public vote on Saturday on the strength of his performance of disco number Don’t Leave Me This Way.
The public didn't put Danny in the bottom two - despite Simon and Louis' no-holds-barred tirade against him.
Louis said, "I hated it" while Simon called the number "Hideous", and proclaimed prophetically, "This has got to stop"!
Daniel makes no secret of the fact such harsh words upset him - and once off-stage, he headed straight to the gents to give himself a big pep talk in the mirror, warning, "Don't let those two get you down".
When Dermot announced him as a survivor, Danny was delighted, sighing, "It was one of the best, most unbelievable, most emotional nights of my life. Thank you so much to everyone who picked up the phone in support".
Next week, however, is Mariah Carey week - and Danny knows he not only has a big song to deal with - he's got to face those wicked judges again.
He told us, "I keep hearing Simon say 'This has got to stop!'".
"I'm starting to wonder what he'll do to get me out. Will he turn the lights off? Will he slip backstage and pull my phone line out"?
"I like my song for next week and it's a big challenge. But as long as he doesn't unplug me I'll do my best, back for another chance".
Although determined, Dan admitted, "I am now scared that he's out to get me".
"Will I wake up tomorrow morning with a horse's head in my bed?
"Will there be a note from the Godfather of music saying, 'Go home Dan. Leave now - or else?'"
