Barack Obama versus Little Miss Showbiz!
A fluey Cheryl threw the cat amongst the pigeons when, after JLS performed the Mariah/ Boyz II Men Hit One Sweet Day, she warned them, "Don't let Louis turn you into Westlife".
The boys had delivered a vocally accomplished performance of a difficult song, with Marvin delivering what Cheryl reckoned was his best individual effort yet. However the Girls Aloud judge reckoned they should have moved around the stage a little bit more!
She counselled, "We love how you were in Michael Jackson week, the performance and personality".
"You don't need to just stand there and sing".
Funnily enough, Louis took exception, saying snippily back, "Westlife have had a lot more hits that you have. Little Miss Showbiz thinks she knows it all"!
Whatever recipe mentor Louis and the JLS boys are using, Simon reckons it certainly works! He said of their performance; "It was impossibly hard. It was Mariah, It was Boys II Men. But you guys have really connected. And I am going to be amazed if you guys don't make the final!"
And Louis, God love him, really got into the winning spirit (much to Dermot's disbelieving hilarity)!
Quoting a certain American man of the moment, Louis got evangelical.
"In the words of Barack Obama, 'We can win this. Yes we can!'"
