Amy's wish

The X Factor is a show that makes dreams come true, but not just the dreams of the people taking part, as 17-year old Amy Hughes found out during the dress rehearsal.
Amy who suffers from a rare premature ageing condition called Cockyane Syndrome is a huge fan of The X Factor, and an even huger fan of Louis Walsh.
Amy has been so poorly for so long that her mum, Jayne, wanted to do something for her that would put a great big smile back on her face.
“I managed to find a company called Wish Upon A Star, they are a wonderful organisation who try to make terminally ill children’s wishes come true.
“We applied to them and they mentioned going to Disneyworld in Florida or somewhere similar, but Amy didn’t want that, she was desperate to come to The X Factor to meet Louis!”
Accompanied by her brothers Jonathan, 9, and Ben, 7, and her best friend Lindsey, Amy was thrilled to watch the rehearsals and meet the contestants, she even got privately serenaded by JLS who sung Beautiful Girl to her.
When Simon Cowell came over to say hello, Sinitta told him that Louis was Amy’s favourite judge! He didn’t seem to mind though and sat with his arm around the youngster as they watched the rehearsals.
The highlight of Amy’s day though was undoubtedly meeting Louis Walsh, who took her and her party into the studio canteen and had a nice long chat over a big bowl of chips!
