Tears and cheers for Alex

"I went upstairs and cried..."
Alexandra Burke had mixed feelings about the winner's song when she first heard it.
The soul gal told us, "When I first found out Hallelujah was going to be the winner's single, I went upstairs and cried".
Although she loved the song, Alex was scared that it was perhaps chosen with a particular contestant in mind.
She said, "I always thought Diana would win".
After a while though, the London lass came around to the idea.
She shrugged, "I listened to it, and I thought about it. It took a while to sink in. And I thought, you know, maybe I could try to do something with it. It definitely had potential"!
And Alexandra sprinkled some of her positive mental attitude onto the track in the recording studio.
She said, "I wasn't confident at all. But I went with the flow and gave 100%".
Now the song is completed, Alex is delighted.
She grinned, "I always did say, everyone stands a really good chance of putting their own spin on it. I'm really looking forward to hearing the harmonies on the JLS version".
"And now it's completed, I am so glad to have had the opportunity to record this song. It does sound like me. I put my own mark on it. My version is a little bit soulful."
"And getting to release the winner's single means everything to me now."
