You've read the headlines, now read the official word behind the stories.

The Sun says…

Alexandra Burke storms to X Factor victory after a stunning duet with Beyonce. The 20-year old beat off competition from boyband JLS and Northern Ireland’s Eoghan Quigg.

It’s true! A record breaking 8 million people voted to crown Alexandra The X Factor champion of 2008. More people than ever before voted to secure Alexandra her winner’s title.

The Mirror says…

X Factor supremo Simon Cowell is planning a sensational bid to hire Kate Moss as a judge. He wants the supermodel to be next year’s new face – to drive the show’s ratings even higher.

We don’t know if it’s true! But we think Kate Moss would be a stunning addition to the panel! Can you imagine Dannii, Cheryl and Kate all sat behind the judging desk – what a good looking panel that would be! No wonder Simon’s said to be thinking about it!

The News of the World says…

Simon Cowell last night said he may be ready to quit The X Factor after the next series—admitting it was exhausting to do the show plus American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent.

It could be true! Simon has already admitted to consider his options at the end of next year’s series… we’re all just hoping that he decides to stay on for at least another year!

The People says…

X Factor star Eoghan Quigg has finally won the battle to date Diana Vickers - and the pair can't keep their hands off each other. Singers Eoghan, 16, and 17-year-old Diana snogged passionately last week during a break from rehearsals for last night's final.

We don’t think it’s true! Despite all of the rumours linking these two together we’ve not heard or seen anything that would make us think the pair are a couple… they’re just good mates.

Daily Star says…

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has hinted that last night's final might be Dannii Minogue's last show. The music mogul said that the Australian singer might not be on the panel of judges with him next year.

It’s not true! It seems every week we are defending Dannii’s role on the show, and today is no different… as far as we know Dannii will be appearing on next year’s show.

The X factor without Mr Cowell would be like a Wedding without the Champagne;fish and chips without the salt and vinegar;gin and tonic without the ice and lemon;chillie con carne without the chillies...whereas Britains got Talent without him would be enhanced because it needs a live performer as a judge.eg Eddy Izard;Bruce Forsyth;Jennifer Saunders;Sue perkins. So if he needs to rest that should be the one to rest from?

Simon's not planning to stop the X Factor altogether, he might just quit as a judge on the show.. he'll still be involved backstage as far as i've heard.. it's just cause he wants more of a life (LOL) cause doing the show takes up so much time. I fail to see the advantage in having Kate Moss on the panel.. i know this year image has more to do with the winner and judges comments but come on T_T singing wise.. i don't get her part =/

i dont see what the point would be in having kate moss on the panel, what does she know about music? apart from being a groupie?!? and hardly a good example to young people. also how skinny does cheryl look in that picture! dannii has a fab figure, hope she's still around next year. x
