Ronan welcomes a new star to the stage...
We caught up with the Boyzone star backstage at The X Factor, after the show! Here's now he rates the acts...
You're part of The X Factor final! How do you feel about being here?
Me and the boys are having a great time. There's a lot of excitement backstage. There are lots of different reasons - on many different levels - why the each of the X Factor finalists deserved to be here, it was always gonna be a good show.
You've brought the family down, haven't you?
Yes, my wife Yvonne came down and the kids were here for dress rehearsals - they got an autograph or two!
Alexandra is the winner. What do you think of her?
Alexandra is amazing. I think this show has proved you have to just let the stars shine. She's got it. She stood up there with Beyoncé and she gave it some. Fantastic.
You sang with your countryman, Eoghan...
Eoghan - he's a great lad, he's Irish, he put in a great performance and I'd love to see him do well. He's really confident as well - he has more confidence than the lot of us put together!
And what do you like about JLS?
JLS are a brilliant band, there is no-one else out there like there at the moment and regardless of the result I'm sure JLS will go on to do well. They are going to carry on.
Is there is a big party on Louis' dressing room after the show?
Yeah I'm sure. (Louis - "We will be having some champagne - two or three - or seven!") But I'm going home. I'm on a flight back to Dublin at seven o'clock tomorrow morning.
What can the contestants expect life to be like in the future?
Busy! Exciting! We've just announced a new Boyzone tour for 2009, you can't beat the buzz that you get on the stage. These guys will find on their tour what singing to an arena crowd will be like, how great an experience it can be.
What would you say to the winner of The X Factor 2008?
