(Continuing from my earlier post): Eoghan stayed on a level with his 3rd song, and JLS didn't quite hit the heights with their rendition of their 3rd song in comparison with last week's performance of the same song. In the final round, there was no contest, Alex's version of Hallelujah was light years ahead of JLS's, and that was the deciding factor in Alexandra's worthy victory.

I don't quite agree with you Ant-har. Agreed she was the best singer and deserved to win in the end. However, I hated her Silent Night because she lost control of her breathing which destroyed the phrasing. JLS and Eoghan both sang solidly in their first songs. Alex lost her composure singing with Beyonce, but JLS were completely overshadowed by Westlife when they came on stage. Eoghan, I felt, held his own with Boyzone. Alex took the initiative by nailing her 3rd song. ... (tbc)

EOGHAN SHOULD HAVE WON! i actually think it all comes down to the star duet. boyzone and westlife dont really compare to international superstar beyonce. leon won last year with his duet with kylie and alex won last night because of her beyonce duet.

Alex won last night because she kept upping her game. Eoghan and JLS do solid Xmas songs, she tops it with a superb Silent Night. The boy bands show Eoghan and JLS how far they still have to come, Alex matches Beyonce in their duet. JLS put in their best performance of the series, Alex trumps them again. After the break JLS do a worthy Hallelujah - what does Alex do? She takes it to another level again. She's got talent to burn.

In all honesty, as amazingly talented Alex may be, it was Beyonce that won it for her. I think it was highly unfair that she got to sing with an international superstar that is Beyonce- clearly Simon wanted her to win and that's why he arranged for this to happen, while JLS and Eoghan performed with regular artists. Also unfair that JLS were paired with another band- disappointing even though they held their own totally. Good luck for the future JLS, I'm sure you will make it big! xxx
