The X Factor finalists reach Number 1!22 Nov 09
We did it! The X Factor charity single, You Are Not Alone, has claimed the top spot in this week’s chart after selling over 193,000 copies, making it the second highest selling single of the year so far and raising hundreds of thousands for the charity…
Not only does this make each of our 12 finalists’ dreams of getting a Number 1 under their belt come true, but more importantly it means this year’s chosen charity Great Ormond Street Hospital benefits from the much needed proceeds.
“I'm absolutely delighted for Great Ormond Street Hospital that The X Factor single has been able to help,” said Simon echoing the other judges’ sentiments.
“It’s an incredibly deserving national cause and the work they do to give hope and happiness to so many brave children and families is absolutely invaluable and an inspiration. It’s a complete honour to be involved"
Our finalists are naturally ecstatic at reaching the Number 1 spot and every one of them couldn’t be more proud to be involved in such a worthy cause.
“It’s absolutely fantastic to be part of a single that’s gone to Number 1 and is making a difference to people’s lives,” said a delighted Joe McElderry.

When is Simon Cowell going to pull his finger out and help Cliff reach number 1 before the end of the decade? He is, after all,the person who started all this.

I dont think people understand just what GOSH does for patients and their families. It isnt like the other children hospitals, unless you have been there to see the difference it makes, you just wont understand. Ive been a patient there all my life, over the past year ive had 13 brain operations, this couldnt be carried out at the other childrens hospitals. This is the one to be at. This single has transformed my life these past few weeks, being involved with the video and meeting the finalists!

Why does all the profits have to go to GOSH? Why can they not be shared out between all the Children's Hospitals as they all do a fantastic job and GOSH does get alot more donations than the others put together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon needs to take a leaf out of Danni's book and be brave vote for the best singer instead of going to the public vote. She has earned the credibility that Simon lost two weeks ago.
