Shirlena leaves the show

+1 -1

It has been decided by both Shirlena's GP and The X Factor's own medical experts that it is in Shirlena's best interests for her not to continue in the competition.

The welfare of our contestants is of paramount importance to us - Shirlena was informed of the decision in person by the show executives in the presence of a psychologist.

It's about time these judges performed in a more professional manner, by judging people solely on their singing ability. Shirlena clearly can't sing and shouldn't have got through the audition like many others. In saying that, she did get through and the judges should stand by their decision.

I believe Simon is now considering bringing Shirlena back to the show. What a farce ! As sorry as I feel for the woman, I was under the illusion that the X Factor was primarily a singing competition, which from what we saw she can't sing a note. I can't believe she even got as far as the judges houses. The show is turning into a joke which is a shame because it's my favourite tv programme. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the X Factor and Britain's Got Talent at the mo.

I would like to know how the media found out details like medical personal information that is made privacy between patients and G.P. Why are personal details like that(Mental illness) is exposed to the public?is our medical record and privacy is now a joke! The public should be informed that due to medical reason shirlena would not be able to continue the show that is all we the public needs to know. This is wrong! Hellno! i say.

This is all so silly, she was rubbish and wouldn't have got any further anyway! Her bizarre audition was only shown for comedy value - the same reason they put her through.

The media and doctors have blown this all out of proportion. Shirlena has been compaired to Susan Boyle. These two women are totally different. When Susan Boyle went on stage for the first time she told the audience she has never kissed a man at 47!!! So how on the earth was she going to deal with her new found fame? Shirlena is much more worldly wise and would be able to deal with new found fame much better than Susan Boyle.

Shirlena deserves a chance to follow her dreams.

I think it is rather sad that Shirlena has been removed from the show, for whatever reason. OK, she did come across as being a bit crazy, but as Simon said himself, it was in a good way. Surely she is not the only contestant to have potentially had mental issues. Don't you need to be a bit mad to be in show business and is it not in many ways encouraged? I'm sure any of us could suggest many suspects...

I am very unhappy about Shirlena's GP decision. She has a right to fulfil her dreams. She is a great talent and she is likeable. You have completely destroyed her by axing her out. May be close supervision would have been the way forward rather than discarding her not thinking about her feelings and health condition. I love you Shirlena and i wish you all the best
