Janet started singing when her grandma encouraged her to have lessons. She is very passionate about music and it means everything to her and gives her a purpose.

Frankie’s mum took him to the local theatre when he was eight-years-old, and sang there until he was 13, then stopped as it wasn’t cool. His biggest part was playing the Artful Dodger in Oliver and says ‘everyone calls me the Artful Dodger... I see that as a good thing!’

Marcus was quiet and shy at school but did take part in his school musicals. He is a massive Destiny’s Child fan and he saw them every time they performed in Liverpool and owns all their tour DVDs. It was watching them when he realised that singing is what he wants to do.

Jesy, Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade all entered The X Factor this year as solo artists. They were given a second chance at the final stage of Bootcamp when the judges decided to put them into groups. The groups they were put into didn’t work out for the judges, and the girls were given a further chance at the end of Bootcamp when they were put into a group together and Rhythmix was formed.

Jade’s favourite artists are TLC and Diana Ross, and Perrie was named after Steve Perry, the lead singer of Journey.

Jesy has a trainer obsession and owns 90 pairs. Leigh-Ann’s guilty pleasure is watching Nickelodeon shows like Saved By The Bell.

However, at Judges’ Houses, Tulisa decided that Marlon and Mitchell weren’t right for the group and replaced them with Charlie, who originally entered the competition as part of the band, Chasing Keys.
