The jazz and soul singer from London won the first series of the X Factor in 2004. He still sings, preferring to perform at intimate venues across the UK.

Her debut single, Hallelujah sold over 100,000 copies in one day, making it the fasting selling single in a 24 hour period in the UK. Since winning, Joe McElderry continues to perform. As well as recently appearing as a contestant on and winning Popstar to Operastar, the singer was also invited to Buckingham Palace to sing for none other than her majesty, the Queen. Wow - we bet his Mum was proud!

Last year's winner Matt scored a hat-trick following his win. A Christmas Number One single, a publishing contract to pen two memoirs and an album out towards the end of this year. What a busy bee - we're X-hausted just thinking about it!
