Oooh, we do love us a bit of The Overtones, we do!
Not only did they bring us some festive cheer with their faboosh Xtra Factor appearance crooning some Christmas classics, they were also nice enough to answer all of our nosy questions about their X Factor experience.
So what are you waiting for? Read on to find out what they got up to backstage at The X Factor Final, who they would like to duet with on the show and what advice they have for winners Little Mix…
Tell us about your performance on Xtra Factor. What were Olly Murs and Caroline Flack like, and did you get to meet the Judges?
We had a great time at Wembley. Olly and Caroline were really cool and complimentary. Louis and Gary were lovely too. Gary mentioned how great we sounded- - coming from him that was a great compliment!
What do you think of this year’s winners, Little Mix?
Little Mix are great. We think they will go on to be very successful. They are normal girls who everyone can relate and look up to. Cool trainers too!
What advice would you give the girls?
Buy lots of phone chargers. You'll be accidently leaving them behind in many hotel rooms all over the country - tweeting without your BlackBerry can be difficult. Also, don't forget to call your mother every now and then. She'll be missing you.
Did you get to hang out with Coldplay and Westlife backstage at The X Factor Final?
We've seen Westlife a few times and they are always friendly - maybe as it’s always after a beer or two - those boys know how to party! Although I think we could give 'em a run for their money! We bumped into Chris Martin before the show and he seems a very genuine, friendly and grounded man. Coldplay’s performance was amazing!!
What about any other Judges?
Louis was cool. He invited us into his dressing room for a chat. He said he thought we could be massive and was interested in what we were up to. I need to speak to him actually and tell him how great he looks in this week’s heat… dressed as Cheryl Cole! Lol!!
If you were a Finalist, who would you like to perform with in the Final?
We should perform with Simon Cowell. He's spent far too much time behind the Judges’ desk. I reckon we should get him on stage as I have a feeling he'd do a stunning duet of Sex Bomb. We tried to duet with his life-sized cardboard cutout on the night, but it just wasn't the same...
Who out of the band would make the best Judge and why?
We should all try being Judges on the show. But saying the same thing. At the exact same time - just in different octaves. Spooky.
Most rock'n'roll thing that has happened to you on tour?
We once got caught in traffic on the M6 outside Birmingham and were about to miss a gig at the O2 in London. Our trusty tour manager, Jay, arranged for a helicopter to pinpoint us using GPS technology. Within 20 minutes, the chopper landed on a field next to us. Taking not much more than a tie-clip and a pocket hankie with us, we made the gig with 10 minutes to spare. Bam!
