Are you sitting comfortably? No, well you might want to take a seat because we're just about to reveal the BIGGEST twist in The X Factor's history!
This weekend FOUR of our 16 Finalists will be going home. Sob, sob, sob!
That's right, you heard it here first. Four of the acts picked at Judges' Houses will leave The X Factor on Sunday night when their mentors must choose three acts from their category they feel have what it takes to go further in the competition.
Don't say we didn't warn you about needing a chair!
All the acts won a place in the Live Shows because their Judges believed in them, you saw it - and so did we. And our amaze panel now want each of them to have the chance to show what they can do live in front of the studio audience and the millions of you watching at home. We'll be cheering!
But we'd hate to be in the shoes - or heels - of Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa this weekend. We're nervous and it's not us making possibly the hardest decision, like ever!
Each one needs to be certain their Boys, Girls, Groups and Overs can deliver week in, week out, on the live stage and so there will be no public vote this weekend. It really is time to face the music!
Every act now has ONE final chance to convince their Judge that they can win The X Factor and the three who do will go through to next weekend’s public vote.
We can exclusively reveal the final 16 acts were told earlier on Thursday and gave the Judges a round of applause once the news had been delivered. They each assured contestants their decisions would be based on Saturday's performances alone.
Gary told us: "We thought rather than wait until Saturday night we'll talk about the twist. This is The X Factor stage – it’s one thing singing by the pool but it all changes here. This is where stars are born, like Leona – it’s all going to feel very different on Saturday."
And our Kelly wasn't short on advice and comfort. She told the acts: "We want you to put your best foot forward, make the decision hard for us and let us know why you need to stay."
Louis admitted it'll be tough and said: "It’s a level playing field – we want to see your passion, we want to see a star, it’s all to play for."
And Tulisa summed up the feeling among our four Judges promising: "Please understand all of you that none of us have made our decision. It’s a clean slate and we are making our decision as if we have never seen you before."
So there we have it, Saturday nights might never, ever, be the same again.
Yes, The X Factor this weekend will be explosive, memorable and one you won't want to miss. We're sure we won't be the only ones hiding behind the sofa cushions and biting our nails! In fact, we've already started.
Make sure to tune in on ITV1 from 7.30pm on Saturday and watch the Results show at 8pm on Sunday when the toughest of oh so tough choices will have to be made.
