Olly Murs: ‘This year is going to be the best yet’
When we learned that everyone’s favourite cheeky chappy Olly Murs was returning to co-present The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack, our hearts skipped, skipped a beat, (sorry, we’ll grab our coats).
The singer/songwriter told us: ‘Touring with One Direction over the summer meant I missed the Auditions and my partner in crime, Caroline. I can’t wait to see the Flackster again. She texted me throughout bootcamp – I think she misses me.’ Join the queue, Cazza.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock or in the dark ages (or possibly both) you’ll know that Olly’s journey to pop stardom started with The X Factor. The former call-centre worker Olly Murs was one of the success stories of the 2009 series of The X Factor after being voted runner-up to Joe McElderry in the final showdown.
It was his show-stopping X Factor audition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’ that enabled him to showcase his talents, where judge Simon Cowell said it was “the easiest ‘yes’ I’ve ever given.” It was only just the beginning.
The Essex boy will undoubtedly have girls swooning over him as he presides over the chaos and craziness that is Xtra Factor. We’re also secretly hoping he’ll incorporate some dance moves into his presenting – displaying the trademark ‘Olly Wiggle’ that had us all so hot under the collar the first time round. Fingers X’d, eh?
Wait, there’s more!
Keep this on the down-low but Olly has the hots for Nicole Scherzinger. He revealed: ‘I really fancy Nicole – I’m like her stalker. I’m very much hoping that we get to interview her every week on the Xtra Factor couch.’ You have been warned, Nicole.
