Tamera Foster: ‘I KNEW I’d get through Bootcamp’

Despite forgetting her words at her first arena audition, Tamera Foster is not lacking confidence. So it’s no big surprised that she walked on stage at Bootcamp and nailed her performance of Rihanna’s Stay.

In fact, while the audience gave her a standing ovation, Sharon proclaimed she had the “wow factor” – while Gary made the seriously huge suggestion she could sell records “all over the world”. Not bad for a day’s work, eh?

“I knew I had it down,” admits Tamera. “I wasn’t nervous – I had been practising loads and I knew it was going to be fine. Actually, I woke up and did 20 minutes of meditation that morning and then practised more. It calmed me.”

But despite her calm, collected, confident demeanour, Tamera does reveal she was scared when it came to losing her Bootcamp seat.

“I was scared someone was going to take my place,” she tells us. “I was praying the whole time I was in that chair. I know everything happens for a reason, and that’s why I’m here. I’m just glad Abi Alton – who I’m close to – got through Bootcamp with me.”

With confidence like that, we reckon the other contestants must be quaking in their boots. It looks like Tamera’s going to be a tough cookie to beat.
