Ruth says goodbye

Ruth says goodbye

30 Nov 08

Hey Ruth how are you feeling?

I’m feeling absolutely great! It’s cloudy outside but I’m feeling very good, because I left the show singing my best, I received great comments from the judges, and I went out on a high.

How would you describe your X Factor journey?

A rollercoaster with a lot of fighting in it!

What was your favourite moment?

I’ve had a few favourite moments – the Hero single was definitely one of them, performing Purple Rain, and my relationship with Alex.

Do you and Alexandra still plan to see lots of each other?

Oh my goodness! Are you kidding, we are not getting rid of each other, ever! She’s lent me a suitcase for all my stuff, so I’ll see her real soon when give it back!

What will you miss the most about being in The X Factor?

I’m just going to miss all the craziness about it! I’m going to miss JLS and obviously Alexandra, she’s my best friend, but mainly just the mad rushing around in the build up to a live show. It’s so crazy, nobody would ever believe how crazy it actually is!

So what will you miss the least about the whole experience?

What I’m not going to miss at all is eating salads all the time! I’m looking forward to eating some real food and at least sitting down when I do so!

Do you feel a sense of achievement at having come so far?

Oh yes, it’s been amazing and I will only take positives from this, I can’t think of anything negative to say, that’s why I can’t be sad today.

Have you got plans to go back to Spain or will you remain in England?

I want to go to Spain for a few days to see my mum and get a cuddle! But then I’ll be back here because I believe I’m going to be in England for a long time, I think this is where my future is.

Who would you like to win the show?

I really hope JLS and Alexandra will be in the final, and Alexandra will win! And I ask everyone who has voted for me to now vote for her.

Did you get to speak to any of the judges after the show last night?

Yes all of them apart from Simon, but I am hoping to see him later in the week. Cheryl was so sweet she kept sending me kisses saying ‘I love you, I love you’, and Louis was crying too. And of course I saw Dannii who is amazing. She’s such a lovely person and has invited me to Australia to do some rock festivals and stuff – she is so cool!

What’s next then Ruth?

I don’t know what’s next! I know that I have the live tour to look forward to which I am really excited about, but the main dream is to get a record contract, I want to get to the point in my life where I can help others through my music. That would be amazing!

I am absolutely gutted that Ruth has now left the X factor. She was truly powerful on Saturday night. Myself n my friends were stunned. I am a huge fan of the show but this year there most certainly has been some very strange voting patterns. I hate to sound cruel or anything but I hope to God Diana is gone next week. While she is different n quirky the last two weeks she has been dreadful. Her performances have become boring n predictable.

yes she said that her mate she is moving in with (what about the fiance? ) alex is better than mariah carey! the ego has landed as the overhype is believed by the average singer.

Ruth you are sensational. You and Alex are the best singers ever to be on X Factor and I mean over all the series. You should have been in final def. Will miss you. If anyone deserves a record deal its you..good luck hone... wont be the same without you!!!

I agree that Ruth really should not have gone. She is a fantastic singer and has a great personality to go with it. But I don't understand why everyone is slating Diana when Eoghan is still in the competition - her first song was weak but her second was great. I couldn't even hear Eoghan sing his second as the backing choir had stronger voices than he did - he really needs to go before the fiinal.

I agree with lanmail the X factor should now be shown on the CITV channel. It will be interesting when all these 12 year olds parents get their next phone bill. Somebody on one of the posts has admited to voting for JLS 30 times on Saturday!! I can think of better things to spend £10 on.

If you take a look at any of the comments posted alongside the Diana or the other gnome-like one Eoughan stories they are obviously all about 12 years old. Apologies to anyone who is a fan of Ruth's and is 12 - but I ask you! This show is a joke now!

Simon thanks his act for reminding us that 'this is a British competition' and making him 'proud to be British'. Which was really a way of reminding the viewers that Ruth is Spanish. He then went on to say that XFactor was a British show - since when Simon? This is not about the best talent winning, this is about Simon Cowl's ego and his desire to win May be the best act has not gone out but the worse, Simon's, has been kept in.
